SBI is India’s largest public sector bank. In 2015 SBI and PayPal has signed up the memorandum of understanding and support SBI Cards in PayPal. But Things won’t change until late 2017. After waiting for almost 2 years, SBI debit cards is finally accepted by PayPal.

You can now easily link your SBI debit card to your PayPal account and also verify it. However, You have to aware yourself that most of the debit cards from SBI itself is not available for verification and making transactions in foreign sites.

How to Get SBI VISA GLOBAL Debit Card?

To avail this debit card, obviously, you have to be an SBI Savings account Holder. Make sure you have completed your KYC to avail this card. You also have to maintain your saving account in good balance.

Visit your home branch where you have opened your account and apply for this card. You will receive your card within 7 days. Your PIN will be delivered to your Home Branch and you have to collect it from there.

Just Make sure that you have enabled Internet banking as it is very important to activate this card for International transactions.

How to activate this card for International Transactions?

To enable this card for international transactions, you have to activate this card. To activate the card, just go to your nearest SBI ATM and do one transaction. Alternatively, you can also activate this card using your Netbanking.

Visit the OnlineSBI website. Log in to your account. Click on services tab and select ATM card services. Here you will find the option to activate your Card. You can also set your PIN here.

Now on this ATM services menu, you have to select the transaction type. Just set the card for international transactions. You are all set. Your card is now enabled for international transactions.

How to add Card to PayPal

You have to wait for a few weeks after activating your card for International Transactions. After That Login to your PayPal account and add the card to it. After successful verification of your card, Your card is active on PayPal. Now you can buy products and services internationally using your card through PayPal.

    I have SBI Ru Pay debit card, I have following question.
    1) I can link this card to pay pal,
    2) While I tried to link my debit card, the system says dial security code, as a Security code, I dialed my debit cards password but ignored, so security code mean what?
